Guy's has an Urgent Care Centre but does not have an Emergency Department (A&E). The nearest Emergency Department (A&E) is at St Thomas' Hospital.

Tube
  • London Bridge – Northern and Jubilee lines (five minutes' walk)
    There is step-free access to the Jubilee and Northern Lines. Transport for London (TfL) advise those who are disabled, older or people with buggies to use lifts where provided.

Train
London Bridge is the nearest railway station and is five minutes’ walk. The new concourse to London Bridge station (PDF 1Mb) has opened to passengers with a new entrance on St Thomas Street.

Bus
Please allow plenty of time to get from the bus stop to where you need to be in the hospital, as the hospital is not signposted from these locations.

The following buses stop at London Bridge, London Bridge station or near Guy's Hospital:
  • 17, 21, 35, 40, 43, 47, 48, 133, 141, 149, 343, 381, 521, 701, RV1, C10.
  • Night buses stop at or near London Bridge: N21, N35, N47, N133, N343 and N381.
Please note that there are no buses stopping along St Thomas Street.

Walking
It is possible to walk between Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals and takes approximately 30 minutes. Download our walking maps (PDF 688Kb).

Bicycle
The Trust provides cycle parking facilities in nearly all its locations. These facilities are not for long-term storage. If a bicycle is considered to have been abandoned, it will be removed as stated in the Trust’s bicycle storage policy.

Bicycle racks are located:
  • on the right hand side of the car parking area outside main reception (10 spaces)
  • outside Counting House on Great Maze Pond.

There is a cycle hire docking station in Snowsfields not far from Guy's Hospital. To see where the docking station is use the interactive map and search for London Bridge and choose Snowsfields, London Bridge. It will tell you the number of bicycles available and the number of free spaces to park your bike.

Cars and Parking
Guy's Hospital is located in the Congestion Charging zone and parking is very limited. Please use public transport whenever possible. 

From Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm, parking in the Guy's car park is only available for disabled patients. Vehicles can only access the car park from Crosby Row and not from St Thomas Street or Snowfields. For more information, see parking at Guy's and St Thomas'.

Taxi
At Guy’s, the phone for calling taxis is located in the main entrance area and is mounted on the wall opposite the Borough Wing (Green Zone) entrance.

Travel information Bus stops near St Thomas' Hospital The new cycle lanes and bus stop bypasses on Westminster Bridge Road and Lambeth Palace Road have opened. Please take care when crossing the new cycle lanes outside St Thomas’. Cyclists are reminded to take care and be aware of pedestrians when cycling past the bus stops.

Step free access from Waterloo Station is via exit 3, near the clock. When leaving the station from exit 3, turn left and follow the path to York Road for St Thomas’ Hospital and Evelina London.

The Shell building development on York Road, due for completion in 2019, means visitors to St Thomas’ are being directed to the end of York Road. For St Thomas’ main entrance, turn right after using the pedestrian crossing at the end of York Road and the hospital is directly in front of you.
