Market times and map

When you visit, why not make time to explore the outdoor market on Electric Avenue, Pope’s Road and Brixton Station Road. Those streets are all part of a big, pedestrianised area in the middle of Brixton which joins on to the covered market arcades, Brixton Village and Market Row.

Most of the time there are about 80 street traders, and some of them have been Brixton traders for many years. You’ll always find them in the same spot, selling goods, groceries and street food at bargain prices.

Download and print our famous Brixton Market map (pdf) to help you find your way around.

Where is Brixton Village?Take the scenic route… Turn right when you get out of Brixton tube station and cross Atlantic Road (you’ll go under the railway bridge). Turn right into Brixton Station Road Market, then at the crossroads turn right into Pope’s Road Market. The entrance to Brixton Village Arcade is a blue door under the blue bridge, about 100m on your left. It’s only a few minutes’ walk.

OR…

Take the first right when you leave the tube and you’ll find yourself on Atlantic Road. Head down it until you find an entrance to Brixton Village Arcade on your left (it’s past the railway bridges). It’s only a few minutes’ walk.

OR…

Head down Coldharbour Lane from the town hall and there’s another entrance on your left, just over the crossroads.

Where is Market Row?Why not take in the scenic route… Turn right when you get out of Brixton tube station and cross Atlantic Road (you’ll go under the railway bridge). Turn right into Brixton Station Road Market, then at the crossroads turn right into Pope’s Road Market. About 100m ahead is the crossroads with Atlantic Road – turn left and then the entrance to Market Row is on the other side of the road, opposite Brixton Village.

OR…

Turn left when you leave the tube, and then the first left into Electric Avenue. Keep on the right side of the pavement, taking in the eclectic stalls on your way, and then turn first right into Electric Lane.
